  1. My nephew took his life last week due to horrific cyber-bullying. Even when my sister pulled him out of the school, it only escalated. They said he had AIDS, will be six feet under, looks like a monkey etc.. I'm a paralegal ' will do anything to stop cyber-bullying. David Molak was a beautiful boy & my sister found him in her back yard hanging from a tree-just a couple of hours after getting the Instagram notes. Our hearts are broken.

    • Hi Shelly,
I just saw your post as I am actually trying to find more stats on this problem. I am so sorry for your loss of your nephew. It's a shame that schools and parents are not more informed of bullying. Our children usually are quiet about it because of fear of retaliation, or of as in your nephew's case, escalating to the point these kids (and adults) no longer wish to live and deal with it. I think it's time for laws to be put into use. People don't speak of it because it seems to be a taboo. IT MUST BE talked about and these kids need to know they can tell about it without reprocussions. Too many times I have read that schools even laugh off bullying and cyberbullying which is sickening. I hope in time that people who bully will ALL be charged with any and all things dealing with bullying and stalking, catfishing, speading rumors, and threats of physical harm.

    • We define it as willful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices. Check out our Cyberbullying Facts page for more info, if it helps!
