Title: Afghan Ethnicities and Internet Surfing Correlate With Digital Bullying and Victimization

Abstract: Ethnicity is the first identification topic in Afghanistan. However, the last five decades brought changes in the social and political scenario of Afghanistan. Due to these reasons diagnosing the demerits of ethnicity is the first step for a solution. On the other hand, this study showed that the Afghan ethnicities such as Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, and other minorities do not have significant differences among one another based on Digital Bullying and Digital Victimization of the sample. This research data took from public and private universities of Kabul province through the standardized Revised Cyberbullying inventory II (RCBI-II) which was developed by Topcua & Erdur-Bakerb (Topcua and Erdur-Bakerb). There was 750 sample size who participated voluntarily through random sampling technique. Moreover, the sample consists of four groups of Ethnicities such as Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, and other minorities (224, 267, 221, 38) respectively. A relationship was tested through Spearman’s rho because data were not normally distributed.

Besides that for finding differences among Afghan Ethnicities based on Digital Bullying and Digital Victimization one way ANOVA has been applied. All data were analyzed with the SPSS version 24. Furthermore, the result showed the relationship of internet surfing with digital bullying and digital victimization was positively significant with one another. On the other hand, the differences among Afghan Ethnicities were not significantly different from one another.

Title: Cyberbullying phenomenon: an investigation among Afghan university students

Abstract: Online application is almost entirely used for modern communication, which might encourage negative or cyberbullying (CB) behaviors. Therefore, the present study aimed at investigating the prevalence rates of cyberbullying perpetration (CP) and cyber victimization (CV) among Afghan university students. The study also sought to investigate the most common and dominant social media platforms which promote CP and CV and as well as the reasons for not reporting these incidences. In addition, it also explored the significant difference in the prevalence rate of CP and CV by gender, age, and internet frequency. The researcher targeted a sample size of 629 respondents. A descriptive and inferential statistics were used for analyzing the data. The results revealed that Afghan students were highly perpetrated and victimized by cyberbullying. It was also found that Facebook had the most dominant role in promoting and prevalence of cyberbullying. Gender differences were found in the CP. Female students were more to the exposure of being victimized than male students. Age groups and internet frequency were found statistically significant differences in the prevalence of CV but it was opposite to the CP among Afghan students. A significant positive correlation was found between CP and CV. Some practical implications were presented to the authorities and other involved parties.

Title: Relationship of Gender and Age with Cyberbullying Behavior among Afghan students

Abstract: Cyberbullying and cyber victimization have a massive impact on the gender of Afghan students. These digital behaviors affect the Afghan students positively and negatively. The study was conducted in Kabul private and public universities, along with that the cyberbullying and cyber victimization behavior scale RCBI-II was used for elaborating digital bullying and victims. Moreover, participation was voluntary and a sample random sampling design was used. Besides that, the sample comprised of 750 participants out of which 50 excluded. It consists of 464 males and 236 females from 17 to 35 years of age. Furthermore, the PearsonProduct-Moment Correlations and Independent Samples T-Test methods were used for analyzing the data. The results show that the age of participants’ didn’t have any association with cyberbullying and cyber victimization behavior but cyberbullying and cyber victimization behavior has a strong positive correlation (r= .455). Males and females have a significant difference between digital bullying and cyber victim. In other words, males are more cyber perpetrators and cyber sufferers. The study thus provides information about male participants who are misusing the internet more however victimized often.

Title: Prevalence of traditional and cyber bullying among teenagers Herat-Afghanistan

Abstract: Bullying is one of the most common problems among teenagers in many schools around the world, which is recently considered by researchers in the fields of psychology and even criminology as a traditional and cyber bullying. The purpose of this study is to investigate the rate of traditional and cyber bullying among male and female teenagers in the secondary schools of Herat-Afghanistan three levels;first, second and third ones. Materials and Methods: This paper was analyzed by quantative method and random sampling which used questionnaire such as bullying, Punchin, Hindouja, llinios and Aleous questionnaire in Traditional and Cyber by using Spss software. The research sample included 360 students from the first, second and third grades of high schools in the city of Herat. Results: The results of follow-up tests (Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney) with a significant level of less than 0.5 and 0.01 showed that the prevalence of traditional and cyber bullying among female students was higher than male students. On the other hand, there is a significant difference between traditional bullying and social dimension grades of the tenth-eleventh and eleventh-twelfth. The prevalence traditional of bullying in the eleventh grade is less than tenth and twelfth grades. Conclusion: The results of the research indicate that students whose fathers are farmers are more bullied than other jobs. The results also showed that the prevalence of bullying in students whose mothers are housewives are lower than those students whose mothers are employed. Father’s education does not affect student bullying, in addition the results of the study showed that cyber bullying rates are higher among students whose mothers are educated than illiterate mothers.
